I integrating the most effective helping approaches into my counselling service, including counselling skills, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, relationship counselling and personal development coaching.

Every person is unique so no one approach fits all.

It is a collaborative process between me and you in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.

It allows you the opportunity to talk openly about things that you may have difficulty with, and discuss what is worrying you or feeling overwhelmed about.

You may be uncomfortable talking to family or friends about it and could use a neutral point of view to help you to make sense of things.

Talking about our problems is a natural way of helping ourselves.

People know what they don't want in life but don't always know what they do want instead, and part of therapy is to figure this out and take the first step towards it.

Some of the things you may wish to let go of:

  • Rigid life rules that keep you stuck.

  • Outdated behaviours that no longer serve you.

  • Automatically putting yourself down.

  • Being ruled by fear.

  • Unrealistic expectations of yourself.

We will work together to understand what the problems are and develop new strategies for coping with them.

In My Thrive Therapy Toolbox

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

    CBT is an evidence-based talking therapy that looks at how you think about yourself, the world and other people around you. CBT believes that 'we feel the way we think' and by changing your automatic negative thoughts to more healthy ones you will feel happier about yourself and life.

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

    SFT is an approach based on solution-building rather than problem-solving.

    Although it acknowledges present problems and past causes, it predominantly explores your current resources and future hopes - helping you to look forward and use your own strengths to achieve goals.

  • Relationship Counselling

    Build a better relationship with yourself and others (partner, family, friends and co-workers). How you relate to people has a direct impact on your self-esteem and confidence. We will look at communication, assertiveness and more to help you resolve differences to improve your interactions.

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy

    Hypnotherapy is both a powerful and relaxing technique that works by accessing your subconscious mind whilst in a deeply relaxed state, similar to just before falling asleep, where all your automatic behaviours take place. It helps you to create new patterns and ways of being.
